This December, Smoky Mountain Community Theatre will transport you to Christmas, 1946 through the magic of old time radio drama. Inspired by the beloved classic film, It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play adapted by Joe Landry comes to captivating life as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of you, the studio audience, performed in the classic setting of the mid-century Gem Theater. A handful of actors perform the dozens of characters in the radio play and the sound effects are created live, in full view of the audience. As the story of the idealistic George Bailey and one fateful Christmas Eve unfolds, you, too, will rediscover that it truly is a wonderful life.
Performances are December 9-12 and 16-18, 7:30pm Friday, Saturday, and Monday evenings, 2:30pm Sunday matinées. Tickets for all performances are $10 general admission, $5 students.
